“The Me Too Movement: A Social Justice Movement for Human Rights and Empowerment” Title: Overcoming Obstacles and Promoting Change: The Role of Social Justice Movements in Creating a Better Future “Social Justice Movement Presentation”

After the social justice movement proposal is submitted and approved, 
(It was approved it’s the me too movement)
students will expand on this assignment to produce a 5-8 page research paper on the topic proposed. 
Writing from the proposal can be utilized to build the research paper. 
On the bottom the outline will  assist in construction of their social movement topic. 
Research can include websites, films, news articles, and academic research and journalism – including the course content in our required texts. 
Instructions for APA referencing and citation will be introduced in the course and practiced as an element of the term paper. Begin thinking about a social and/or political issue you are interested in exploring and would like to educate others more about. Students will present their findings on what they have learned about the social justice movement they chose to focus on. Presentations will be due and delivered by students on the final class day December 20. The Powerpoint slides document used to accompany the student presentation will be due and submitted via email or Brightspace to the professor on this date before the class begins at 5:30pm.

What are the human rights issues this movement is raising awareness about? What problems does this this social justice movement seek to address? How do these problems impact human rights, safety, and quality of life?

The PowerPoint Presentation: Must be submitted via Brightspace before class begins on April 24 by 5:30pm. 
Each student will have 5 minutes to present their Social Justice Movement Topic in 6 Slides – Slides may use relevant thematic images, bullet points, clipart, etc. to briefly depict each key content area in the term paper outline. You do not have to provide a long detailed summary of your whole paper with this presentation. Please introduce your topic, share the highlights briefly, and be considerate of time for all classmates to present. Practice to ensure you cover the key elements in a concise, straight to the point, and organized manner.
